Immersive audio insights: Katia Sochaczewska on listening beyond stereo
Katia Sochaczewska studied acoustic engineering in Krakow. It was there, during a late-stage project on immersive production, that her interest in what sits beyond traditional stereo really took hold. “The first time I heard immersive music done properly, I knew there was no way back. Once you hear how enveloping that third dimension can be, it’s very difficult to forget.”

Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Trim and Downmix (but were afraid to ask) – Part Two
Immersive Master Pro is the only application that supports Batch Trim and Downmix. This allows users to change the metadata for multiple Dolby Atmos masters in one step. But with power comes responsibility. In this two-part interview, Immersive Machines’ co-founder Nathaniel Reichman talks with Ceri Thomas about this feature. Ceri is the founder of the consulting company IMMERSV, and is widely regarded as an expert in immersive sound.

Richard Burki on Immersive Audio and Why Workflow Still Matters
Richard Burki's Atmos mix of David Guetta and Afrojack’s "Hero" earned a Grammy nomination in 2022, and his immersive work spans not only music but virtual reality, cinema, installations and advertising. Russ Hughes caught up with him to talk about immersive audio’s creative potential—and how Immersive Master Pro is saving his sanity.
Immersive Master Pro processes hundreds of Atmos files at a time.
In this short article, we look back at why we created Immersive Master Pro in the first place. To date, no other tool offers the ability to batch-process hundreds of .atmos master files or ADM files at once. Here are just a few of the creative and powerful workflows our customers use every day.
Mark Gittins on Immersive Mixing and Immersive Master Pro
Mark Gittins is a highly respected mixing engineer and producer, known for his meticulous approach and passion for audio innovation. Immersive Master Pro wrangles the hot mixes. And now version 1.2 can handle the clipping mixes, too.
Clipping in Atmos. Not recommended. But if you do, we’ve made some important improvements in the new Immersive Master Pro 1.2 to knock your mix into spec. Immersive Master Pro has always been able to automatically change the gain of your Atmos mix so you can hit -18 LKFS dead-on for streaming. For mixes that aren’t clipping, there is a 1:1 relationship between dB gain change and LKFS change- the universe is in balance. However, for mixes that are clipping, that relationship breaks down and the gain change gets tricky.
Remove Silent Channels: an exclusive feature of Immersive Master Pro.
Remove Silent Channels (RSC). A lot of mixers and producers use templates when starting an Atmos mix. Templates are a great way to preserve workflows from mix to mix, and they give you a head start– especially when working under time pressure. But the downside is that you might have a lot of leftover objects (and even some beds) that you didn't use at all in your finished Atmos mix. Not only does this cause bloated ADM file sizes, but it's something record labels look for in their QC process when ingesting mixes for streaming. A bunch of random silent objects might look like a mistake, or it might look like the result of sloppy bussing in your session.

Immersive Audio Insights: Gabriel Lundh on Object-Based Mixing and Why He Loves Immersive Master Pro
Immersive Machines’s Russ Hughes sat down with Swedish producer and audio professional Gabriel Lundh to discuss his passion for object-based audio, the advantages it brings to mixing, and how Immersive Master Pro (IMP) has become an integral part of his workflow.
Integrated Loudness: dive into a key feature of Immersive Master Pro.
Integrated loudness. You may have heard of this, and if you’re working in an immersive audio format like Dolby Atmos, you’ve probably heard that there are guidelines for delivering content at a specific loudness target. ADM files have as many as 128 audio channels, so measuring the loudness of a mix that is spread out across that many channels can be challenging. Fortunately, there is a standard method agreed upon in the industry.
